Infinite and wonderful forms: an education in zoology - Area

Go to:  ALL ENVIRONMENTS  ||  HOMEPAGE

The possibility to study the fauna, also through the museum exhibits, allows us to recognize the importance of the protection of individual species, their populations, and the territories in which they live. It is also through this awareness that a different concept has spread in terms of the conservation of our natural resources, which has produced the small ‘revolution’ that transformed a hunting ground into the first National Park: the Abruzzo National Park, now the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park.

In all of the territory of the Abruzzo region, there is a wide variety of places where most of the animals that we present here can still be seen alive: three National Parks, a Protected Marine Area, a Regional Park, 14 State Reserves, 25 Regional Reserves, 8 Protected Areas, and 127 sites of the “Natura 2000” network.
