Findings

  • Scarpa’s ganglion: spinal ganglion placed on the course of the vestibolar ramus of the acustic nerve (VIII pairs of cranial nerves).
  • Big cardiac nerve of Scarpa: sympathetic nerve that  originates from medium cervical ganglion  and concurs to the formation of cardiac plexus.
  • Scarpa’s  staphyloma (or posterior staphyloma): atrophic spot, as result of a slow process of inflammation of the sclera and the choroid, placed around the optical papilla and more extended towards the temporal side; it can be observed in some persons suffering from myopia.
  • Scarpa’s Triangle: region located at the root of the thigh, delimitated in the upper part from the inguinal ligament, laterally from Sartorius muscle, medially from the medium abductor muscle
