Celebrations for the VII centenary of the University of Perugia - the date of the University of Perugia’s establishment has been established to coincide with the date of its official recognition, which occurred in 1308 with the Bull issued by Pope Clement V, an acknowledgment that arrived after several decades of "unofficial “activity: the first documents that testify to the existence of the University in fact date back to the second half of the 6th century.
To celebrate its seven centuries of life (1308-2008), the University developed a varied programme of regional, national and international initiatives, which took place between 2003 and 2009.
