Palace of the Rector

The University headquarters  is located in the former monastery of San Vigilio , in Via Banchi DI Soto. The original core dates back to the XI - XII century, then rebuilt in the XVI cent. and restored in 1891 by Giuseppe Partini . This palace hosts also  the Archive of the University and the Atheneum Historical Path.

Botanic Garden

In 1856 the Botanical Garden was moved to its current headquarters and the Herbarium of the University of Siena was set. (http://www.simus.unisi.it/musei/mb/)

San Miniato scientific center

 

The San Miniato Scientific Centre , designed by architect Giancarlo De Carlo, includes various departments, the Anatomical Museum " Leonetto Comparini” (http://www.simus.unisi.it/musei/anatomico/), as well as and the collections of CUTVAP service centre  (http://www.simus.unisi.it/musei/cutvap/).

Laterino university complex

The complex was built in 1895 to welcome the Anatomical Institutes. Nowadays it hosts the physical – Earth and environmental Sciences Department, the Museum of Earth Sciences (http://www.simus.unisi.it/musei/mst/), as well as the National Museum of the Antarctica

San Niccolò university complex

From 1818 to 1999 this complex was the psychiatric hospital in Siena. Nowadays it hosts various Departments. In the complex are found also the Collection of Tools of Physics, the astronomic observatory (http://www.simus.unisi.it/musei/osservatorio), and the Archeology collections (http://www.simus.unisi.it/musei/archeologia).

The Siena Atheneum also includes other buildings like the XV Cen. of San Francesco (centre of the economic studies departments; the XV Cen. San Galgano Palace, centre of the History and Cultural Assets Department; the Mattioli complex, centre of the juridical studies Department; the Pionta Campus in Arezzo.
